......."A DREAMER WHO NEVER QUITS TO DREAM"......
......A Dreamer......
In this enigmatic world of ours, everyone
is entitled to be "A Dreamer". All of us aspire
and dream for something. At times we even yearn
for the impossible. But beyond the misery,
reality nudges to us to push through, although it
would take us a lifetime to achieve them.
As what they said, "Your dreams are our real life."
Absolutely, dreams are few of the reasons
why we live, since they act as life itself.
What if your dreams are too elusive
(like that of a song)? Thus, you find yourself one day
being awakened by the reality that what you're
been aspiring for is beyond your reach?
Will that topple your world down? Would suicide
ever cross your mind? I really would not agree that
doing it would change everything, instead it will be
another burden to your mound of snag.
The point, which I can really trying to drive at,
is that when we aim high and we could not achieve them,
we should not lose our hope. Hey, enliven your spirit!
It is not yet the end of everything. There will still be
other ways to get into that dream. Don't quit and never
limit yourself to that broken aspiration, who knows giving
yourself another chance will be better this to you around.
If you content yourself to the limitations of what you are
right now, then perhaps you will be missing the chance to
catch that star. You might have forgotten that God only help
those who help themselves. People may also help in
pushing you up, but the only key person who could make
things change is none other that - YOU! If you feel like living in
mediocrity for the rest of your life, then it is all up to you.
But one thing is sure, you'll never get hold of something unless
you will be willing to accept every failure that comes your way....

......."THE AGONY OF THE CROSS"......
.......The Agony of the Cross.......
As Christians, we understand the Spiritual significance
of Christ's sacrifice of Calvary, but it's easy to forget
about the tremendous agony He endured there. The
worst aspect was separation from the Father, but the
physical suffering was also horrible beyond comprehension.
Some thoughts that can deepen our gratitude for what
the Savior did for us....
Jesus was placed on a wooden cross. Nails...were
driven into hands and feet and then the cross was lifted
and jarred into the ground tearing the flesh of the crucified
and racking his body with excruciating pain. It remind us
the even the soldiers could not get used to the horrible
sight, and often took strong drinks to numb their senses.
With a fresh awareness of our saviors physical agony,
let's thank Him for His sacrifice at Calvary. He loved
us so much that He was willing to die for us even the
painful death of the cross.
Jesus humbled Himself and became obedient to the
point of death, even the death of the cross.

......."WHEN YOU'RE DOWN".......
...When You're Down...
When we look up and focus on God,
something good happens. We get our eyes
off ourselves and gain a new appreciation of Him.
Next time you're down, try looking up to God.
He is sovereign, He loves you, He considers you
special, He has a purpose for your trials.
Yes, life can seem unbearable at times. But don't
let it keep you down. Meditate on God's goodness,
talk to Him, and know that He hears you. That will
give you strength to get up when you're down.

......"MOUNTAINS CAN MOVE!".........
........Faith is the key to Answered Prayer......
A slogan about prayer is, "Prayer changes things." But prayer doesn't do this--God does. Some people think the prayer itself is the source of power, so they "try prayer," hoping it will work for them. In Mark 11, Jesus disclosed one of the secrets behind all true prayer: "Have faith in God." Not faith in faith, not faith in prayer, but "faith in God".
Jesus told His disciples they could command a mountain to be cast into the sea, and if they believed if would happen, it would. Jesus then gave them His meaning behind that astonishing promise. He said, "Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will". Jesus was speaking about answered prayer. We can ask and receive answers only if our asking is directed to God in faith and according to His will.
I've often wished that I could move mountains by faith. But He has done something much more important; He has removed mountains of worry, fear, and resentment from my heart and cast them into oblivion through my faith in Him. He is still in the mountain-moving business! Have faith in God and pray.......

........"DO SMOKERS REALLY CARE?".......
........Do smokers really care?........
Like food and sex, smoking's all about pleasure and to some extent, sustenance--that bolt of energy that swarms through your senses with the first long drag, tapering down into a buzz that just might get you through another page of prose or another stanza.
The best advice I can give to non-smokers is, get off smokers back if they resist your efforts to get them to stop. If you can't stand their smoke, steer clear of them, or designate space where they can burn their lungs away.
It's sad that some smokers can no longer decide for themselves, as if their chemistry making their minds up for them. But once upon a time they had a choice, and they made it. If they want help and are willing to be helped, good, if not wish them long a productive and happy life as they can manage, and a quick passing, which unfortunately will very likely not be painless.
To smokers, please don't smoke in a non-smoking zone. Certainly you have rights to do as you please, but not at the expense of the people around you. It's an imposition many of us would be happy to be without. If you smoke and I still hang out with you, that means I like you enough to shave a few minutes off my life for a few in your company- - so buy me a soft drinks will you?...
......FILIPINO SMOKING MANIA ......
The popularity of smoking in the Philippines not just among adults, but even with our youth.
The country has 17.3 million adult smokers, which squarely puts us as having one of the highest smoking prevalence rates in the world. In fact, we are ranked 12th among males, and 5th among females. More alarmingly, the growing population of youth smokers, one that has increased by almost 40 percent during a span of four years. According to the 2000 Global Youth Tobacco Survey, there are even cases of children younger than 10 years old who have started to pick up the filthy habit.
No wonder then that the cost to our society because of smoking ills is also on the rise. An estimated 30,000 Filipinos die yearly of smoking related illness, including diseases of the heart, nervous system, pulmonary system, and various cancers.
Another 30,000 people, second hand smokers on individuals exposed to the smoke of those who drag on the nicotine of their cigars cigarettes, are estimated to be afflicted by this smoking mania. Particularly vulnerable are children with asthma.
The cost of smoking to the country, both in terms of health care and productivity losses, is estimated belong to the lower levels of the income strata, and subsequently pose a higher burden on the public health care system.
The option to collect more taxes on cigarettes continues to be most sensible alternative facing our current government, not just in terms of raising revenues but also confronting a costly malady of smoking that currently exists.

......"FORGETFULNESS IS ALZHEIMER'S DISEASES" ......
When forgetfulness is Alzheimer's Diseases?......
Alzheimer's Disease is a strange disease, or later everyone else becomes a stranger. Alzheimer's Diseases is unforgiving. It steals from a person while still physically strong; his career, family, independence and himself. AD is the most common and most popular of the diseases that cause dementia. It is estimated that today 24.3 million people world wide have dementia. Affecting about 8 people in 100 individuals 65 years old and older with the number doubling every 5 succeeding years, the WHO(World Health Organization) in 2005 declared dementia as a public health concern. It is projected that in the next 2 decades, they expected rise in dementia will be 200 times more in the less developed countries. The highest growth is expected in South East Asia including Philippines. Where under detection is possible because of shorter survival rate, each of public awareness because dementia is not a health priority and until recently in adequate, assessment tools if not outright ignorance and negligence.
Forgetfulness frequently precedes all the other symptoms of dementia. Unfortunately, it is also common in normally aging individuals. Differentiation, therefore, is extremely crucial in early detection of AD.
.......Symptoms of Alzheimer's diseases......
*Recent memory loss that affects your job and daily activities; example forgetting names appointments, details of recent events.
*Difficulty in performing familiar tasks like driving, operating household appliances, or participating in old hobbies.
*Trouble finding the right words to say making sentences difficult to understand or substituting forgotten words incorrectly.
*Disorientation such as getting confused in familiar places and disoriented to dates and times.
*Poor or unpaired judgment such as in problems with handling finances and inappropriate behavior.
*Problems with abstract thinking such as in calculating change or balancing the checkbook.
*Frequent misplacing of personal possessions especially of value.
*Change in mood or behavior or like rapid mood savings for no apparent reason.
*Change in personality like one who is generally easy going may become angry and suspicious, or one who is dependent becomes unusually more reliant on family members.
*Lack of initiative to engage in usual activities but becomes passive sitting in front of the television for hours. Sleeping more than usual........

......."CAMOTE AND OTHER CHEAPS GOOD FOR HEALTH".......
......Camote and Other Cheaps Good for Health.........
Root crops like sweet potato or camote are simply tops because they contain oligo sugar which not only provide an extra dose of energy but also help ward off diabetes and cancer. The indigenous foods are good in anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-heart diseases medicines. Like nuts from pili, kasoy, peanuts, root crops, like camote, camoting kahoy, ube and gabi. Native fruits like pineapple, dalandan, papaya, bayabas, and guyabano. Garden vegetables like malunggay, patola, sitao, bataw, patani (just remember the bahay kubo). As will as deep sea fish like tuna, which has the beneficial omega 3 and has no toxins because the water of Mindanao are not polluted
A daily diet rich in raw or pickled vegetables, fruits eaten fresh or taken a fresh juice, whole wheat bread, corn, gabi or ube. Also our coconut oil is the best in the world, even better than olive oil. It is anti-bacterial and anti-viral, which is acknowledged by international leaders. The Philippine cacao (tablea) is fast gaining world recognition because it helps lower blood pressure.
Brown rice and brown sugar, complex carbohydrates which are good for the heart.
Avoid as much as possible, animal meat, especially processed meat, animal milk and milk products like butter, shell fishes (squid, tahong, talaba, tulya, alimango, alimasag, shrimps, prawns, labsters).

......"W E A L T H".......
WEALTH IS NOTHING ,
IF IN THE END OUR FAMILIES
WILL SELF-DESTRUCT
AND MEMBERS WOULD
START HATING EACH OTHER.
LET US BE THANKFUL
BECAUSE GOD HAS IN DEED
BLESSED US.....
IF IN THE END OUR FAMILIES
WILL SELF-DESTRUCT
AND MEMBERS WOULD
START HATING EACH OTHER.
LET US BE THANKFUL
BECAUSE GOD HAS IN DEED
BLESSED US.....
......"BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART"......
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST SAID THAT, BY LOVING YOUR ENEMIES AND DOING GOOD TO ALL MEN WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN. YOUR REWARD SHALL BE GREAT AND YOU WILL BE RECOGNIZED BY GOD AS HIS CHILD AND THAT REWARD IS IMMEASURABLE BECAUSE IT IS FROM THE LORD WHO IS ALSO GENEROUS TO THE UNTHANKFUL AND TO THE TRANSGRESSORS. WITH ALL THESE PRELUDES, WE MUST BELIEVE THAT THE COMING OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS AT HAND. WE NEED TO PREPARE OUR LIVES BEFORE OUR LORD SHALL RETURN. WE SHOULD BE THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED WITH EVERY GOOD DEED ALTHOUGH WE ARE LIVING IN PERILOUS TIMES BECAUSE EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD AND EVEN THE SORROWS WE FEEL ARE TEMPORAL. DOING GOOD UNCEASINGLY IS ETERNAL LIFE IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOD'S WILL AND HIS EVERLASTING PROMISE FOR ALL OF US. AS THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ONCE SAID: "BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART, FOR THEY SHALL SEE GOD"...
......"WE MUST ALWAYS REMEMBER".......
WE MUST REMEMBER THAT IN EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN THIS LIFE, THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON BEHIND IT. THERE IS A ROOT CAUSE FOR EVERY ACTION THAT WE TAKE AND EVERY DECISION THAT WILL MAKE, SO, THE SONG GOES: THERE'S A REASON FOR SNOWFALLS/ A REASON WHY A TREE TALL/ A REASON WHY STAR IS BRIGHT/ A REASON WHY THE MOON GLOWS/ A REASON WHY THE WIND BLOWS/ A REASON WHY IT'S DARK AT NIGHT/ BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY I SHOULD CRY/ JUST BECAUSE YOU SAID GOODBYE/ THERE MUST BE A REASON, I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHY, OH WHY, OH, I'D LIKE TO KNOW.
GOD ALLOWS ACTUALITIES TO TAKE PLACE SOMETIMES BECAUSE HE WANTS TO TEACH US A LESSON. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT OUR ALMIGHTY GOD IS REASONABLE IN ALL THIS WORKS. ALTHOUGH IT IS BECAUSE OF MAN'S FREE WILL WHICH IS GIVEN BY GOD THAT PREVAILS. HE WANTS TO SHOW HIS ENDURING LOVE, KINDNESS AND LONG SUFFERING FOR MANKIND.....
......."THE SURVIVAL"........
........S U R V I V A L.........
After graduated his high school he let his two years slide off before he started his journey in college. His parents could not send him to college because they were financially unstable, and acquiring a college degree is indeed very expensive, so he had to find ways and means in his own. Even in high school, he struggled to bring home a diploma. He worked as a student assistant. Therefore, he graduated from high school. He learned and realized that there is no reason for us to succeed if we are willing to sacrifice and commit yourself to your endeavors at all times.
Since his parents could not fulfill their obligations. He looked for a way on his own. He applied in many department stores but sad to know, he was not qualified because he was underage. Fortunately, his closest friend whom he lived with during his working student days happened to know the manager of one department store. She referred him to the manager and he automatically accepted him. He worked there as a booth attendant but the position took only three months because he was promoted as a merchandiser. There he found peace of mind, friends and comrades. But something inside of him then was burning, and that was his oosing dream of finishing college. After a year, he decided to follow his dream. He humbly asked his manager to allow him to have a fixed schedule so he could spend his time from 7-11 in the morning to study.
For three years, he sacrificed juggling two responsibilities at the same time. Both responsibilities where important to him. There were times that he had to sacrifice one or the other depending on the situation or which priority calls for immediate action. For three years, he had gone through insensitive instructors, jealous and insecure friends and coworkers and to top of it all. He missed paying his tuition fees on time. Still he struggled and ignored those burdens until such time that he have to give up his work due to the complexities. The conflict of time came during his last year in college. He needed to look for another source of income to sustain his survival in college. Though he didn't have a job during the opening of the fourth year in college, he still pursue to enroll because he believe that God would never abandon him. His manager offered him a new work with his cousin to tutor in a grade school. Another conflict worse that he have to give up his work.
Later on, he asked his best friend, a manager in one establishment to give him a job. The only position available at that time was very hard. One has to start at 4:00 am until 1:30 pm, that he was apprehensive of giving him the position. He bigged him to agree and there he was a janitor, wader and check-in agent at the airport which only thirty minutes to spare for traversing the traffic jam roads to school. It took a lot of guts to face what he had been through. He taught him to be strong and survive. He often cried and down because he had to force himself to wake up and face the long and arduous day ahead. He only had three hours of sleep. One time, he was assigned at the arrival area where he had to carry enormous luggage heavier than his own body.
All the sacrifices that he had encountered have made him mature. The four years of college have not been easy for him but somehow, he had no regrets because they have made him the person he right now. He was so thankful he had endured all of them. So he had come this far because God has been with him all the time.

....."LOVE YOUR FAMILY AS THEY LOVE YOU"......
.....Love Your Family.......
You don't need to hurt yourself those emotions of being worthless. Cheer up! Your family loves you very much and they need your appreciation not insecurity or guilt.
Do reverse psychology. Imagine working hard, so your family can have what they would feel the same kind of worthlessness that you're feeling now. Thinking they are a burden to you. They leave your house without your knowledge. You would thinking you gave them less love and attention. Would it no be a sad story?
Make your loving family, your inspiration while you work hard to finish your college. You might want to digest the message of the parable of Christ written in the twenty fifth chapter of Matthew. It tells about the story of a man who traveled to a far country. He left his three servants with talents(money). The first one he gave five, the second one with two, the last one he gave one talents. After a long time, the man come back and reckoned with his servants. The first servant told his master he used the five talents in trade and gained five more talents. The second servant said he did the same- he traded and gained two more talents. But the last servant said he knew his master is very strick and hardworking. He was so afraid he dig up the earth and hide the money. The man was so pleased with his servant except with the fearful one whom he called wicked and slothful.
Your brother and sister give you money for your needs and they want nothing in return but see, you spend the money wisely. Give them good grades to make them happy and proud as they know that their hard works gained no worthlessness. Give them your sincere gratitude in spoken or written words or through your actions.

......STUDYING HARD IS KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS.......
........Studying is Key to Success.......
There are lucky ones who are able to study. There are many who just make it to high school and not able to go to college. Out of 83 percent who get to enroll at primary level. Only 60 percent can get through high school and only 40 percent will be able to continue to college levels. This is one of the biggest challenges of our country- the problem in education. We need to invest in the development of minds and ability of our children. We need to ensure that they have quality education which will eventually bring about a stronger Philippines in the future. What will make our country great is the improvement in the literacy and knowledge of our citizens
Many of the underprivileged .kids are not able to go to the best school. What makes it even more distressful is the lack of active mentorship from parents, since most work overseas or until late hours or are simply absentee parents. It is not only the school that builds values and proper attitude. Parents plays a very important role. There needs to be active guidance from them on a daily basis. Our OFWs have no choice but to sacrifice being away from their children so they can send them to better school.
To the students who are blessed to be in good schools with parents who are around to mentor them, take life seriously, while you may enjoy grade school and high school years. Keep a balance and prepare for your future. Going to a university is a serious thing. Studying hard is the key to success.
Having the right attitude in life cannot be taught in school alone. Parents and guardians have a big role to influence values and attitude of the kids. It is also learned through proper mentorship from being in the right environment at home and school that keep on love of country and encourage optimism. This also helps in developing a strong spirituality which is needed to draw strength when faced within big problem and you lose hope.
When we fail we have the tendency to blame everyone first before we blame ourselves. We need to see what went wrong and realized our mistakes so that we will be able to move forward. Life will not be fair to all of us. Some will be blessed with more. God has given us an opportunity to experience life. We should make full use of what he has blessed us with and always giving those than 100 percent. With all the challenges in life, we should continue to give our best.
As they say; "WHAT WE ARE BORN WITH IS GOD'S GIFT TO US AND WHAT WE BECOME IS OUR GIFT TO GOD".
Congratulations to the parents but there who had to sacrifice to be able to send their kids to school, and to those who allotted their life time savings to make sure their children have a better education. To our graduate, youth, thanks your parents for being there for you especially if they are abroad. They sacrificed precious time of seeing you grow up in order to invest in your future with better education. God has great plans for all of us. Let us realize our purpose in life and lend a hand to those in need.
With all the challenges in life, we should continue to give our best.

........THE GRADUATES.......
........Graduation Day........
One of the most important stage of a person's life is Graduation. To parents, it's the second most joyful moment in their life after their child's birth.
Graduation is a transition from a lower academic ladder to a higher rung to prepare the student for the realities of life beyond the perimeters of his campus.
The parents who shed blood, sweat, and fears to send their child to college feel like running in a big-time lottery when they see him receive that coveted rolled and ribbon-ed parchment onstage on graduation day. Aside from being happy, the parents also fell sad because for the first time in their life, their children will leave them to chose their dreams in some distant place.
This year's graduation rites focus on the theme "The Graduate". A partner towards transformational society, an answer to societal change. This echoes the message of Pres. Benigno S. Aquino 111, that education can fix the problems of our nation leading the country towards being a truly strong society.
Graduation is a turning point in a students life. One wrong turn and it will mean falling short of his expectations in life. It is how up to the graduate to go about achieving his ultimate goal in life. For the moment, however, it's celebration time for the graduates for hurdling the first phase of their social life.
May the graduates realize the country's dream of a truly strong society.
